Old Favorite, New Site

30 May

While I begin to put my new site together and join the ever growing world of beer lovers talking about their passion for beer I was enjoying an old favorite of mine: Oude Kriek Vielle from Brouwerij Oud Beersel (6.5%abv) in Belgium. It is a traditional Lambic style made with real cherries which means it actually retains that super yummy sour flavor that awakens almost every sense in your mouth. If I remember correctly, I believe this was the first sour Lambic I tried at The Brickskeller years ago and it made me fall in love with the style. Now, whenever I find myself in a new beer place, the first thing I look for is any rare delicious sour ale. Certain mainstream producers of Fruit Lambics add sugar to the mix thus weakening the sourness… But to each there own. I found this delicious beer at DeVinos Wine Shop in Adams Morgan (2001 18th Street Northwest, Washington, DC); a great place to find craft beer in DC. I’ve never been disappointed. Sadly I have to keep my first post short and simple. Off to work at the Brickskeller and sell good beer to the tourists that descend upon our city during memorial day. So welcome to my page and hopefully soon I’ll have it all put together nicely… I’m new at this so you’ll have to be patient for just a minute.
